Family of Sherwood COX (4) & Nancy ROSSER

15. Samantha COX. Born about 1844 in Tennessee. At the age of 90, Samantha died on 11 Feb 1934. Buried in Feb 1934 in Rising Star Cemetery, Eastland County, Texas. Resided in Eastland County, Texas in 1900.

Samantha married Martin Van TURNER, in Wood County, Texas. Born on 4 Jul 1837 in Alabama. At the age of 74, Martin Van died on 21 Nov 1911. Buried in Nov 1911 in Rising Star Cemetery, Eastland County, Texas.

They had the following children:
i. J.C.. Born in Nov 1861. At the age of 57, J.C. died in Feb 1919.
ii. Anna. Born in 1864.
iii. Landora. Born in 1867.
iv. Isora E.. Born in 1868.
v. Emma. Born in 1873.
vi. Mimry. Born in 1875.
vii. Minnie E.. Born on 25 Mar 1878. At the age of 81, Minnie E. died on 9 Jul 1959.
viii. Lafayette. Born on 9 Apr 1881. At the age of 78, Lafayette died on 8 Feb 1960.
ix. Bertha. Born in 1884.
x. Byron. Born on 7 Dec 1888. At the age of 72, Byron died on 12 Dec 1960.
