On 17 Mar 1910 when Joseph Elbert was 28, he married Elizabeth BAILEY, in Nacogdoches County, Texas. Buried in Palestine, Anderson County, Texas.

They had the following children:
i. Elbert Joseph. Resided in Palestine, Anderson County, Texas.
ii. Frank Bailey. Resided in Palestine, Anderson County, Texas.
iii. Alfred Holt. Resided in Palestine, Anderson County, Texas.
