Family of Markham Marshall COFFMAN (11) & Margaret WALKER

34. Martha COFFMAN. Born on 2 Dec 1824 in Alabama. At the age of 28, Martha died in Limestone County, Alabama on 8 Jul 1853.

On 13 Feb 1841 when Martha was 16, she married James A. MEALS (27) , son of Daniel J. MEALS (1791-1870) & Mary Ann COFFMAN (8) (1789-1868), in Limestone County, Alabama. Born on 21 Oct 1817. At the age of 76, James A. died in Limestone County, Alabama on 26 Nov 1893. Resided in Limestone County, Alabama.

James A. Meals purchased land in Huntsville, Alabama, on June 1, 1848. LAND OFFICE: Huntsville; DOCUMENT NUMBER: 12991; TITLE AUTHORITY: Cash Sale; SIGNATURE DATE: June 1, 1848; ALIQUOT PARTS; SESW; SECTION NUMBER: 20; TOWNSHIP: 1S; RANGE: 5W; BASELINE: Huntsville; TOTAL ACRES: 39.92; VOLUME IDENTIFICATION: 068.

They had the following children:
70 i. Lewis Marshall (1841-1908)
ii. James M.. Born in 1842.
iii. John H.. Born in 1847. At the age of 3, John H. died in Sep 1850.
71 iv. Mary Elizabeth (1848-1914)
v. Margaret Ann. Born on 21 Oct 1850.
