Family of Alfred CARRINGTON (13) & Sarah HALL

24. Nathaniel Robert CARRINGTON. Born on 18 Jun 1822. At the age of 93, Nathaniel Robert died on 17 Aug 1915.

Nathaniel Carrington returned to Tennessee after the death of and married Mollie Watkins Lindeman, a widow. After Mollie's death he married to Susan Douglas White, daughter of Mollie died he married a third time to Susan Douglas White, daughter of William Abel Douglas. After his death, Susan return to Henderson County, Tennessee and lived with her brother.

Nathaniel patented the first cotton planter and scraper in the United States.


Nathaniel moved with his family to Marshall County, Mississippi, in about 1841.

On 21 Oct 1844 when Nathaniel Robert was 22, he first married Eliza A.F. PETTY, in Marshall County, Mississippi. Born on 21 Oct 1826 in Limestone County, Alabama. At the age of 67, Eliza A.F. died in Marshall County, Mississippi on 23 Aug 1894.

They had the following children:
i. Spencer (Adopted). Spencer died in Henderson County, Tennessee in 1963.

ii. Frances Ann. Born on 30 Jan 1846 in Marshall County, Mississippi. Frances Ann died in Covington, Tipton County, Tennessee.

Frances Ann married William BOYD.

iii. James Alfred. Born on 6 Mar 1849 in Marshall County, Mississippi. James Alfred died in Marshall County, Mississippi on 18 Jul 1849.

iv. John William. Born on 4 Jan 1850. At the age of 8, John William died on 7 May 1858.

v. Patrick Irvin. Born on 6 Jan 1852 in Marshall County, Mississippi. At the age of 1, Patrick Irvin died in Marshall County, Mississippi on 8 Mar 1853.

vi. Arthur Lee. Born on 25 Oct 1853 in Marshall County, Mississippi. At the age of 42, Arthur Lee died in Marshall County, Mississippi on 13 Jun 1896.

On 14 Feb 1878 when Arthur Lee was 24, he first married Mattie Bell MOFFATT, in Marshall County, Mississippi.

Arthur Lee second married Carrie MOFFATT.

vii. Mary Booth. Born on 25 Oct 1855 in Marshall County, Mississippi. At the age of 2, Mary Booth died in Marshall County, Mississippi on 29 Mar 1858.

viii. Charlie Augustus. Born on 10 Jan 1858 in Marshall County, Mississippi. At the age of 31, Charlie Augustus died in Marshall County, Mississippi on 3 Jan 1890.

On 21 Jan 1880 when Charlie Augustus was 22, he married Cora WILLIAMS, in Marshall County, Mississippi.

ix. Robert Petty. Born on 13 Apr 1860 in Marshall County, Mississippi. At the age of 84, Robert Petty died in Marshall County, Mississippi on 19 May 1944.

Robert Petty married Nannie MOFFATT.

x. Luther Davis. Born on 18 Jan 1862 in Marshall County, Mississippi. At the age of 31, Luther Davis died in Marshall County, Mississippi on 9 Aug 1893.

Luther Davis married Emma WILLIAMS.

xi. William Jones. Born on 16 Jan 1865 in Marshall County, Mississippi. At the age of 3, William Jones died in Marshall County, Mississippi on 8 Oct 1868.


Nathaniel Robert second married Mary WATKINS. Alias/AKA: "Molly".

Nathaniel Robert third married Susan L. DOUGLAS, daughter of William Abel DOUGLAS (1818-1909) & Nancy Jane MILAM (1822-1884). Born in 1840 in Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 82, Susan L. died in Henderson County, Tennessee in Jan 1922. Buried in Jan 1922 in Waller-Douglas Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in 7th District, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1870.

Obituary: Mrs. Susie Carrington, widow of the late S.T. Carrington, died last Sunday afternoon at 6:00 in the home of her brother, Esq. W.A. Douglass, in the old 8th District. Mrs. Carrington had reached the great age of 82. She leaves two children, Mrs. Jennie Clements, now of Memphis, and Mrs. Susie Taylor, Dickson. Her maiden name was Douglass, being a daughter of the Esq. Abel Douglas, this county, who died many years ago. She first married Dr. Giles Waller, Juno; she next married Jerry White of the old 8th District and her last husband was S.T. Carrington. She had been a member of the Methodist Church since childhood and those who knew her tell us that she was more than an extra woman in all the relations of life. The funeral occurred Monday, with interment in the Waller graveyard near Juno by the side of her first husband.

25. Larcinia Augustus CARRINGTON. Born in 1833 in Granville County, North Carolina.

Larcinia Augustus married Pat BOGGAN.

They had the following children:
i. Hampton.

ii. Robert.

iii. Bruce.
