On 29 Jan 1891 when Emma Elizabeth was 22, she married John Sheard PRITCHARD, son of Benjamin S. PRITCHARD (1835-1910) & Amanda PHILLIPS (1833-1874), in Carroll County, Tennessee. Obituary: Man is Cut to Pieces by Saw in Carroll: On Thursday of last week at his sawmill, near his home in the Thirteenth District of Carroll County, S.A. Pritchard met with a horrible death. While sawing he fell on the saw and the back part of his head was sawed off, one arm was cut off at the shoulder, and cut into once or twice, and other slighter injuries were received. The mill had recently been established and Mr. Pritchard was just learning to saw. Mr. Kirby the sawyer who was teaching him had just stepped out when the accident occurred, and there was no one present but his two small girls. When Mr. Kirby returned he found him dead. It seemed that the log had partly slipped off the carriage and Mr. Pritchard had taken a stick to try to push it back and in some way fell on the saw. He was about 55 years old and is survived by his widow and four children. He is a brother of J.H. Pritchard, a merchant at Clarksburg. The funeral occurred at Parker's Crossroads, in this county last Friday. We got the above facts from the Huntingdon correspondent for the Tennessean and American. They had the following children:
