BRANDON. Born on 23 Feb 1846 in Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 78, Murray A. died in Carroll County, Tennessee on 26 Nov 1924. Buried in 1924 in Sellers Hill Cemetery, Clarksburg, Carroll County, Tennessee. Religion: Served as an elder at the Roans Creek Church of Christ, Carroll County, Tennessee.

Baptized by James Holmes in October 1865. Verified by Roland Brandon's Bible.


On 2 Feb 1869 when Murray A. was 22, he married Margaret Catherine WILSON (40) , daughter of John William Perry WILSON (10) (1817-1861) & Zilpha SELLERS (1818-), in Carroll County, Tennessee. Born on 17 Nov 1848 in Tennessee. At the age of 63, Margaret Catherine died in Carroll County, Tennessee on 21 Mar 1912. Buried in 1912 in Sellers Cemetery, Carroll County, Tennessee. Alias/AKA: "Kate".

v. Roland Harrison. Born on 20 Sep 1886. At the age of 83, Roland Harrison died on 8 May 1970. Buried in 1970 in Sellers Hill Cemetery, Clarksburg, Carroll County, Tennessee. Roland Harrison served Quartermaster Corps, World War I.

Roland Harrison married Elizabeth SCOTT. Born in 1886. At the age of 84, Elizabeth died in 1970. Buried in 1970 in Sellers Hill Cemetery, Clarksburg, Carroll County, Tennessee.

vi. Infant. Born in May 1888 in Carroll County, Tennessee. Infant died in Carroll County, Tennessee in May 1888. Buried in May 1888 in Sellers Hill Cemetery, Carroll County, Tennessee.


42. John R. BRANDON. Born on 29 Mar 1853 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 76, John R. died in Carroll County, Tennessee on 26 Mar 1930.

On 7 Nov 1872 when John R. was 19, he married Elizabeth Jane GROGAN, daughter of Rice Ross GROGAN (1819-1891) & Mary Emily LUCAS (1823-1891), in Carroll County, Tennessee. Born on 2 May 1856 in Tennessee. At the age of 81, Elizabeth Jane died on 4 Nov 1937. Alias/AKA: "Lizzie".

Millard Clay BRANDON. Born in 1855 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 60, Millard Clay died in Wildersville, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1915. Buried in Sellers Hill Cemetery, Clarksburg, Carroll County, Tennessee. Religion: Served as an Elder, Roans Creek Church of Christ, Carroll County, Tennessee.

On 16 Nov 1876 when Millard Clay was 21, he married Virginia Ann UTLEY, daughter of William Eaton UTLEY (1828-1915) & Julia Anne PORTER (1827-1910), in Carroll County, Tennessee. Born on 14 Dec 1859. At the age of 95, Virginia Ann died on 8 Nov 1955. Buried in Sellers Hill Cemetery, Clarksburg, Carroll County, Tennessee. Alias/AKA: "Jenny".

On 5 Oct 1879 when Bettie A. was 15, she married John F. PENDERGRASS, son of Augdon Quincy PENDERGRASS (1829-1875) & Clarka Ann GRANT (1837-1912), in Carroll County, Tennessee. Born in Aug 1856 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 78, John F. died in Carroll County, Tennessee in 1935. Buried in 1935 in New Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery, Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in 7th District, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1880. Occupation: Farmer. Alias/AKA: "Booker".

You, or either of you, are hereby authorized to solemnize the Rites of Matrimony between John Pendergrass and Bettie Brandon of our County, agreeably of the Act of Assembly in such case made and provided: PROVIDED ALWAYS, that the Rite of Matrimony be solemnized in this County; otherwise these shall be null and void, and shall not be accounted any License or authority to you, for the purpose aforesaid, more than though the same had never been prayed or granted, etc. Given at the Clerk's office of said County, this 4th day of October 1879. Know all men, That we, John Pendergrass of the County of Carroll, and State of Tennessee, are held and firmly bound in the State of Tennessee, in the sum of Twelve Hundred and Fifty Dollars, to which payment, well and truly to be made, we bind our heirs, executors and administrators, and each every one of us and them, both jointly and severally, firmally by these presents. Witness our hands and seals, the 4th day of October 1879.
The Condition of the above Obligation is such, That whereas, John Pendergrass hath prayed and obtained License to marry Bettie Brandon.
Now, if the said Bettie Brandon be an actual resident of the County aforesaid, and there shall not hereafter appear any lawful cause why the said John Pendergrass and Bettie Brandon should not be joined together in Holy Matrimony, as Husband and Wife, then this obligation to be void and of no effect; otherwise to remain in full force and virtue.

Lenora Arena married William Dewitt ROARK, son of William Carroll ROARK (1825-1911) & Harriett Elizabeth MALONE (1825-1921). Born on 18 Mar 1852 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 74, William Dewitt died in 1927. Resided in 13th District, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1880. Alias/AKA: "Willie D.".

They had the following children:
i. Emma. Born on 28 Jan 1875. At the age of 5, Emma died on 2 Jun 1880. Resided in 13th District, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1880.

iv. Dennie. Born on 30 May 1879. Dennie died on 31 May 1879. Buried in May 1879 in Sellers Hill Cemetery, Clarksburg, Carroll County, Tennessee.

v. Lenora. Born on 4 Jun 1880. Lenora died on 4 Jun 1880.

vi. Lillie. Born on 1 Jul 1881. At the age of 8, Lillie died in Feb 1890.
