Family of Elijah Lewis BRADFIELD (5) & Elizabeth EVANS

16. Doctor Daniel W. BRADFIELD. Born on 18 Mar 1851 in Tennessee. At the age of 84, Daniel W. died on 29 Oct 1935. Buried in Oct 1935 in Christian Chapel Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee.

On 12 Nov 1871 when Daniel W. was 20, he first married Eliza Paralee HENDRIX, daughter of Ephraim HENDRIX (1830-1862) & Larceny ? (1835-1880). Born on 6 Feb 1852. At the age of 36, Eliza Paralee died on 10 Sep 1888. Buried in Sep 1888 in Hendrix Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee.

They had the following children:
i. Winnie J.. Born on 14 Aug 1872. At the age of 5, Winnie J. died on 28 Nov 1877. Buried in Nov 1877 in Hendrix Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee.

On 3 Dec 1893 when Daniel W. was 42, he second married Virginia C. HODGE, daughter of James HODGE & Margaret McCLANAHAN, in Henderson County, Tennessee. Born in 1847. At the age of 89, Virginia C. died in 1936. Buried in 1936 in Christian Chapel Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee.

17. Andrew W. BRADFIELD. Born in 1852 in Tennessee. At the age of 40, Andrew W. died on 7 Nov 1892. Buried in Nov 1892 in Mt. Ararat Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee. Occupation: Farmer. Cause of death: Typhoid Fever.

Andrew W. married Sarah Jane NEWMAN, daughter of Reverend Henry NEWMAN (1825-) & Susanna REEVES (1830-). Born in 1860. At the age of 67, Sarah Jane died in 1927. Buried in 1927 in Mt. Ararat Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee.

They had the following children:

ii. Elma Ann. Born on 25 Aug 1889 in Darden, Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 77, Elma Ann died in Darden, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1967. Buried in 1967 in Mt. Ararat Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee.

Ellis Henry Bradfield and Elma Ann Bradfield were twins.
iii. Ellis Henry. Born on 25 Aug 1889 in Darden, Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 84, Ellis Henry died on 7 Dec 1973. Buried in Dec 1973 in Mt. Ararat Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee. Occupation: Farmer.

Military: Ellis Henry Bradfield was a World War I veteran.

Ellis Henry Bradfield never married. He was a farmer in Darden community and attended Mt. Ararat Baptist church. He lived in his uncle John T. Bradfield's home, and later with his sister.


Ellis Henry Bradfield and Elma Ann Bradfield were twins.
iv. Docie. Born on 15 May 1891.

Docie married J.W. LEWIS. Alias/AKA: "Pink".

18. Louise BRADFIELD. Born on 30 May 1854 in Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 66, Louise died in Henderson County, Tennessee on 4 Apr 1921. Buried in Apr 1921 in Mt. Ararat Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in 6th District, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1910.

Louise married William Frank BOWMAN, son of Mary Elizabeth BOWMAN (1830-). Born on 30 Apr 1854 in Decatur County, Tennessee. At the age of 83, William Frank died in Henderson County, Tennessee on 24 Mar 1938. Buried in Mar 1938 in Mt. Ararat Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in 6th District, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1910. Occupation: Farmer.

William Frank Bowman served as deacon in Mt. Ararat Baptist Church from 1887-1897 at which time he was ex-communicated because he joined the Holiness Church.

iv. James Wiley. Born on 30 Sep 1883 in Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 9, James Wiley died in Henderson County, Tennessee on 29 Dec 1892. Buried in 1892 in Mt. Ararat Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee.

James Wiley Bowman was killed in a hunting accident. He was accidentally shot by Lane Brodie. Lane Brodie moved to Texas and later to Oklahoma after the shooting.

ix. Silas C.. Born on 12 Dec 1893 in Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 2, Silas C. died in Henderson County, Tennessee on 1 Jul 1896. Buried in 1896 in Mt. Ararat Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee.

19. James F. BRADFIELD. Born on 7 Feb 1856 in Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 75, James F. died on 1 Aug 1931. Buried in Aug 1931 in Mt. Ararat Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee.

On 18 Jul 1888 when James F. was 32, he married Nancy Catherine MEGGS, daughter of Joshua MEGGS (1826-1906) & Nancy KEEN (1828-1877), in Decatur County, Tennessee. Born on 14 Oct 1860 in Decatur County, Tennessee. Resided in 6th District, Decatur County, Tennessee in 1870.

They had the following children:

ii. Liza. Born in 1891 in Decatur County, Tennessee. At the age of 85, Liza died in 1976. Buried in 1976 in Mt. Ararat Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee. Alias/AKA: "Lizzie".

Lizzie Bradfield never married.
iii. Allie. Born in 1896. At the age of 85, Allie died in 1981. Buried in 1981 in Mt. Ararat Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee.

Allie Bradfield never married.
iv. Infant. Born on 13 Sep 1898. Infant died on 23 Oct 1898.
v. Nancy.
vi. Almeta.

20. John T. BRADFIELD Senior. Born on 5 Dec 1857 in Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 86, John T. died on 14 Jan 1944. Buried in Jan 1944 in Mt. Ararat Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee.

Obituary: John T. Bradfield, Sr., son of the late Elijah and Elizabeth Evan Bradfield, was born December 5, 1857, and died January 14, 1944, aged 86 years. On January 17, 1895, he was married to Bettie Carrington, who preceded him to the grave about four years ago. To this union was born one son who died in infancy. In early manhood he professed faith in Christ, and on the 18th day of October, 1885, he united with Mount Ararat Baptist Church and remained loyal to the church having served as the church clerk for 40 years and always present at the meetings as long his health would permit. "Uncle John," as he was called, was a good neighbor, loyal citizen, always standing for the things which made the community and country a better place. He leaves to mourn his departure a number of nephews, nieces, and other relatives. Rev. W.F. Bartholomew and Rev. G.C. Joyner conducted the funeral services with interment at Mr. Ararat Cemetery.

On 17 Jan 1895 when John T. was 37, he married Sarah Elizabeth CARRINGTON, daughter of Sion Monroe CARRINGTON (1831-1865) & Mary HODGE (1828-), in Henderson County, Tennessee. Born in 1865. At the age of 74, Sarah Elizabeth died in 1939. Buried in 1939 in Mt. Ararat Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee. Alias/AKA: "Bettie".

They had one child:
i. Infant. Born on 22 Jun 1899. Infant died on 22 Jun 1899.
