125. Charles Edward MEGGS. Born on 18 Jul 1929 in Wildersville, Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 79, Charles Edward died in Jackson, Madison County, Tennessee on 15 Aug 2008. Buried on 17 Aug 2008 in Sellers Hill Cemetery, Clarksburg, Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in First District, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1930.

Obituary: Charles Edward Meggs, 79, of Huntingdon, died Friday, August 15, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Services were held at 1 p.m. Sunday, August 17, in the chapel of Chase Funeral Home with Pastor James Brooks officiating. Burial followed at Sellers Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers who served were John Ringold, Jared Meggs, Michael Jones, Mike Prince, Donald Ricketts, Jr., and Kevin Meggs. Honorary pallbearers were Randy Sykes, Harold Baker, Leroy Mann, Gladys Mann, Johnnie Ruth Bawcum, David Hicks, and Juanita Hicks. Mr. Meggs, son of the late O.R. and Allie (Lunsford) Meggs, was born on July 18, 1929, in Henderson County. He was retired from Henry I. Siegel Company, a member of First Pentecostal Church in Huntingdon, enjoyed songwriting, playing his guitar, and spending time with his family and church family. He was preceded in death by a brother, James Meggs. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Meredith Meggs; two daughters, Gail (David) Tines of Jackson and Rita (Andy) Ringold of Huntingdon; a son, Edwin (Terry) Meggs of Huntingdon; a sister, Nellovene (Dennis) Pollock of Huntingdon; a brother, Larry (Sylvia) Meggs of Jackson; six grandchildren, Kim (Mike) Prince of Atlanta, Georgia, Michael (Jamie) Jones of Nashville, and John (Cristie) Ringold, Jared Meggs, Amy Ringold and Lauren Meggs, all of Huntingdon; five great- grandchildren, Ginny Prince and Kaitlyn Prince of Atlanta, Georgia, Brooklyn Jones and Braddock Jones of Nashville, and Allie Ringold of Huntingdon.



On 1 May 1948 when Charles Edward was 18, he married Meredith Virginia DILL, daughter of Horace Lusky DILL (2 Aug 1893-1977) & Mamie LAWS (22 Nov 1902-1983), in Corinth, Mississippi. Born on 16 Mar 1929 in Clarksburg, 13th District, Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in District 13, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1930.

They had the following children:

232 iii. Rita Kay (1960-)

126. Nellovene MEGGS. Resided in Huntingdon, Carroll County, Tennessee in Aug 2008.

Nellovene married Dennis POLLOCK.

They had the following children:
i. Darrell. Occupation: Pentecostal preacher.

ii. Kenneth.


127. Larry Wayne MEGGS. Born on 7 Feb 1942. Resided in Jonesboro, Arkansas on 11 Jul 2001. Resided in Jackson, Madison County, Tennessee in Aug 2008.

Larry Wayne first married Freda COGDELL, daughter of David Timothy COGDELL Junior (1927-8 Apr 2002) & Elvie ?. Resided in Huron, Henderson County, Tennessee in Jul 2001.

Larry Wayne second married Barbara ROLLINS. Born on 2 Nov 1942 in Cedar Grove, Carroll County, Tennessee.

They had one child:
i. Corey. Born on 18 Aug 1973 in Huntingdon, Tennessee.


Larry Wayne third married Freda COGDELL, daughter of David Timothy COGDELL Junior (1927-8 Apr 2002) & Elvie ?. Resided in Huron, Henderson County, Tennessee in Jul 2001.
