First Generation

1. Simeon BOWMAN. Born about 1803. At the age of 63, Simeon died in Decatur County, Tennessee on 27 Jan 1866. Buried in Jan 1866 in Bowman Cemetery, Jeanette, Decatur County, Tennessee. Occupation: Farmer.

Simeon married Elizabeth ?. Born about 1807.

They had the following children:

ii. Elisha. Born about 1827.
iii. George C.. Born about 1829.
3 iv. Mary Elizabeth ( 1830-)
v. Rebecca Emmaline. Born on 25 Dec 1833.
4 vi. James Wiley (1836-1906)
vii. Sarah. Born about 1842.
viii. Henry C.. Born on 15 May 1842.
ix. Jonathan. Born on 8 Mar 1843. At the age of 21, Jonathan died in Georgia on 15 Jul 1864. Buried in Jul 1864 in Andersonville National Military Cemetery, Andersonville, Georgia.

Military: Jonathan Bowman served with Company C, 7th Tennessee Cavalry, USA. He was captured along with his unit on 24 March 1864 in Union City, Obion County, Tennessee. He was imprisoned and died at Andersonville Military Prison, in Andersonville, Georgia.
