Family of Isaac BLOUNT (1) & Lovey Ann JONES In 1831 when Mary Druscilla was 19, she married Joshua Daniel BUTLER, son of Elias BUTLER & Sarah Elizabeth STARKE, in Carroll County, Tennessee. Born on 21 Mar 1802 in Montgomery County, North Carolina. At the age of 76, Joshua Daniel died in Carroll County, Tennessee on 6 Nov 1878. Buried on 6 Nov 1878 in Oak Grove Cemetery, Carroll County, Tennessee. They had the following children:
3. John Grey BLOUNT. Born on 7 Aug 1821 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 87, John Grey died in Carroll County, Tennessee on 23 Jan 1909. Buried in Jan 1909 in New Hope Cemetery, Yuma, Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in 14th District, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1850. Resided in 14th District, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1860. John G. Blount, farmer and cotton dealer of the Fourteenth District, and son of Isaac and Lovey Blount, was born in Carroll County, Tenn., in 1821, and is one of a family of ten children, six of whom are living. The father was born in North Carolina about 1781, and was of English lineage. At the age of eighteen he commenced the life of a sailor, and followed this for about twenty-five years. When thirty-five. years of age he married, and in about 1815 immigrated to Carroll County, being one of its very early settlers. He established a grist-mill in what is now Benton County, and afterward built one on Blount's Creek, named in his honor. He assisted in building the first courthouse in Carroll County, and was one of the very first magistrates of that county. At the time of his death, which occurred about 1871, he was ninety years of age and the owner of a good farm. The mother was also born in North Carolina, about the same time as her husband, and died soon after his death. Our subject received a fair education, and at the age of twenty-five years married Miss B. Brewer, by whom he had three children: Wiley W., Larcena (Mrs. M. A. Sanders) and Aquilie (Mrs. C. J. Bruce). Mr. Blount then settled in the Fourteenth District on a farm of about 200 acres, where he has since resided, and which he has increased to 1,400 acres. He is now one of the most extensive landholders in the Fourteenth District. Mrs. Blount died about 1856, and in the following year Mr. Blount married Miss Keziah A. Brewer, sister of the first wife. By this union they had four children three now living: Josephine (Mrs. Paley Rosser), Frances Elizabeth (Mrs. James Rosser) and Lovey L. (Mrs. Barney Bruce), deceased. Mrs. Blount died about 1868, and in 1870 our subject married Mrs. Winnie R. King, daughter of Noah Hampton, by whom he had two children: Isaac C. and Rosena. Soon after the war Mr. Blount was elected to the office of constable, but soon after resigned. He was formerly a Whig in politics, and cast his first presidential vote for Henry Clay in 1844. He is a Mason, and Mrs. Blount is a member of the Missionary Baptist Church John Grey first married Empire Hezie BREWER, daughter of Benjamin BREWER (1801-) & Frances ? (1799-). Born in 1830 in Tennessee. At the age of 22, Empire Hezie died in 1852. Buried in 1852 in Brewer Family Cemetery, Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in 14th District, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1850. They had the following children:
On 25 Aug 1853 when John Grey was 32, he second married Kizzie Amelia BREWER, daughter of Benjamin BREWER (1801-) & Frances ? (1799-), in Carroll County, Tennessee. Born on 16 Feb 1825. At the age of 42, Kizzie Amelia died in 1868. Buried in 1868 in Brewer Family Cemetery, Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in 14th District, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1850. They had the following children:
On 24 Feb 1869 when John Grey was 47, he third married Winnie Ridley HAMPTON, daughter of Noah HAMPTON Senior (1802-) & Dawsey RUST (1805-), in Carroll County, Tennessee. Born in Apr 1830. At the age of 71, Winnie Ridley died in Yuma, Carroll County, Tennessee on 19 Jun 1901. Buried in Jun 1901 in New Hope Cemetery, Yuma, Carroll County, Tennessee. They had the following children:
4. Wiley Edney BLOUNT. Born on 3 Sep 1825 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 79, Wiley Edney died in Oglesby, Coryell County, Texas on 13 Aug 1905. On 14 Jan 1846 when Wiley Edney was 20, he married Mary Ann GOOCH, daughter of Pumphrey P. GOOCH Senior (1798-ca1863) & Elizabeth RUST (1801-), in Carroll County, Tennessee. Born on 26 Apr 1825 in Carroll County, Tennessee. At the age of 37, Mary Ann died in Holly Springs, Marshall County, Mississippi on 9 Oct 1862. They had the following children:
