James Blain married Ludie May CARY, daughter of James Benjamin CARY (1856-1929) & Eliza Ann KIRKSEY (1867-1948). Born in Dec 1891. At the age of 78, Ludie May died in 1970. Buried in 1970 in New Hope Cemetery, Yuma, Carroll County, Tennessee. Resided in 14th District, Carroll County, Tennessee in 1910.

They had the following children:
i. Beulah. Born on 21 Aug 1909. At the age of 84, Beulah died on 25 Jan 1994. Buried in Jan 1994 in New Hope Cemetery, Yuma, Carroll County, Tennessee.

Dessie Ann married J. Paul CARY, son of Wesley McClure CARY (1873-1947) & Emma Adalade JONES (1877-1956). Born in 1910. At the age of 66, J. Paul died in 1976. Buried in 1976 in Farmville Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee.

v. Verlie. Born on 18 Jan 1919.

Verlie married Rubert ELLINGTON. Born on 21 Sep 1914.

vi. Lucretia. Born in 1921.

vii. James Priestly. Born on 29 Apr 1925. At the age of 72, James Priestly died on 14 Mar 1998. Buried in Mar 1998 in New Hope Cemetery, Yuma, Carroll County, Tennessee.

viii. Julian Blain. Born on 14 Apr 1927. At the age of 50, Julian Blain died on 19 Apr 1977. Buried in Apr 1977 in New Hope Cemetery, Yuma, Carroll County, Tennessee.
