229. Vanna Ophelia BELEW, GG Granddaughter, F. Born on 3 Jun 1875 in Nevada, Collin County, Texas. Vanna Ophelia was 82 when she died in California in Apr 1958. Vanna Ophelia was buried in Mt. View Mausoleum, Oakland, CA.

52 Vallejo St., Berkeley, CA. [may be address of some descendent.]
Reference: Navada County Texas History says Vanna's husband is J.V. RICE. This could
be a second husband - 1880 Collin County, census. Other info from Clyde WALTON,
S.L.C., UT. Childrens names taken from letter written to Arles Bynum from
Graham Mitchell June 28, 1976.

She married George Henry CHANCE, M, on 4 Jul 1900. George Henry died in California ? on 6 Oct 1952.

They had the following children:
i. Gabe, GGG Grandson, M.

ii. Elizabeth, GGG Granddaughter, F.


230. William Clarence BELEW, GG Grandson, M. Born on 22 Mar 1879 in Nevada, Collin County, Texas. William Clarence was 62 when he died in San Leandro, Alemeda County, CA on 3 Jun 1941. William Clarence was buried in Mt. View Cemetery, Oakland, Alemeda County, CA.

William died in the Oakland County Hospital and is buried in the same plot as
his cousin, William Leland BELEW [#1269].

He first married Emma Cordelia STREETMAN, F, about 1903.

They had the following children:
i. Rubye Mae, GGG Granddaughter, F. Born on 8 Apr 1904 in Tishomingo, Johnston County, OK. Rubye Mae was 77 when she died in Sinton, San Patricio County, Texas on 3 May 1981.

Rubye BELEW married 1-Otto THIELE, 2-? SMITH and 3- George Byers EDWARDS.

He second married Lena HOUSER, F, about 1926.

They had the following children:
i. Ella, GGG Granddaughter, F. Born on 7 Jan 1929 in Sinton, San Particio County, Texas.

OWNBY from her cousin Elizabeth CHANCE WELTY: "It was a great pleasure to hear
such good news of Helen Ruth tho I was sorry to have no mention of Mary Ella.
These little girls had such a hard time growing up. No one had more reason to
feel insecure. You didn't give me Helen's married name. Can it be with three
children she took back her maiden name? I never knew anything about her mar-
iage & she certainly had gold stars in her crown to raise her family alone---"

She first married Clyde RICHARDSON, M.

She second married Stuart Herbert WAKEFIELD, M, in 1952.


He third married Sadie COOK, F.

231. Ethel Elizabeth BELEW, GG Granddaughter, F. Born on 5 Jun 1882 in Nevada, Collin County, Texas. Ethel Elizabeth was 80 when she died in McKinney, Collin County, Texas in Jul 1962. Ethel Elizabeth was buried in Pecan Grove, McKinney, Collin County, Texas.

She married Fred Maynard OWNBEY, M, on 5 Feb 1900 in Denton County, Texas. Born on 9 Jan 1878 in Altoga, Collin County, Texas.

Fred OWNBEY'S father named the town of Altaga and owned the store there. Mrs.
OWNBEY was a welfare worker, and lived in McKinney, Texas.

They had one child:
