On 14 Sep 1947 when Myrtle Mae was 25, she married Alton Garfield WILLIAMS, son of George WILLIAMS & Minnie QUALLS, in Corinth, Mississippi. Born on 4 Jul 1920 in Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 78, Alton Garfield died in Henderson County, Tennessee on 14 Oct 1998.

Military: Served in World War II.
Unit: Company F, 330th Regiment, 83rd Division.
Separation Center: Fort Knox, Kentucky.
Service Entry Date: October 13, 1942.
ETS Date: December 29, 1945.
Highest Rank Held: Private First Class.
Battles Participated: Normandy, Northern France, and Rhineland.
Decorations, Awards, and Citations: American Theater Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, World War II Victory Medal, European, African, Middle Eastern Ribbon with three Bronze Stars.


Cause of Death: Complications from Alzheimers Disease.

315. Richard E. POWERS. Born in May 1923 in Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 76, Richard E. died in Henderson County, Tennessee on 7 Oct 1999. Alias/AKA: "Ed".

In 1948 when Richard E. was 24, he married Dorothy Jean GALLOWAY, in Corinth, Mississippi. Born in 1932 in New Edinburg, Arkansas. Resided in Lexington, Henderson County, Tennessee in Feb 2005.

316. Leotha POWERS. Born in 1930 in Henderson County, Tennessee. Alias/AKA: "Otha".

In 1949 when Leotha was 19, he married Olean HOPPER, in Corinth, Mississippi. Born in 1933 in New Edinburg, Arkansas.

317. Euther W. POWERS. Born on 25 Apr 1933 in Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 58, Euther W. died in Henderson County, Tennessee on 5 Oct 1991. Buried in Oct 1991 in Antioch Cemetery, Lexington, Henderson County, Tennessee. Alias/AKA: "Butch".

Euther W. married Betty Lou WEBB (232) , daughter of Thomas Singleton WEBB (1899-1944) & Ollie Gray AZBILL (129) (1897-1942), in Corinth, Mississippi. Born on 20 May 1939. At the age of 62, Betty Lou died in Jackson, Madison County, Tennessee in May 2002. Buried on 12 May 2002 in Antioch Cemetery, Lexington, Henderson County, Tennessee.

Obituary: Services for Betty Lou Powers Umstead, 62, will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 12, 2002, at Reed's Chapel. Burial will follow in Antioch Cemetery. Ms. Humstead, an employee at Briarwood Manor, died at Jackson General Hospital. Survivors include one daughter, Linda Hottman of Lexington; one son, Richard Lynn Powers of Lexington; four sisters, Evelyn Williams of Clarksburg, TN, Tommie Wooley of Lexington, TN, Sue Threadgill of Clarksburg, and Lou Nell Gooch of Yuma, TN; one brother, Lawton Webb of Wildersville, TN; and one grandchild.

They had the following children:
i. Linda Lou. Born on 31 Aug 1955.
ii. Bruce. Born on 6 May 1957. At the age of 36, Bruce died in 1994.
390 iii. Judy (1960-1993)
iv. Richard Lynn. Born in 1963.
