Obituary: On Monday, the first day of July at 8:30 o'clock p.m., the innocent soul of John Thomas, the two-year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Carson Peterson, left its earthly tenement of clay and winged its flight to Him who said, "Of such is the Kingdom of Heaven." Little John Thomas had been ill but for four days. He was taken with flux, followed by congestion, and the heroic and loving efforts to save his precious life were unavailing. The little fellow had lived long enough to win his way into the deepest love of his parents, his paternal grandparents, Esq. J.C. and Mrs. Peterson, and others, and his rather sudden taken away was one of those blows hard indeed to bear. The healing power of time alone can bring balm to the hearts which mourn his loss in which the parents and others who loved him have the most profound sympathy.
