Obituary: William A. Sego, aged 61 years, died Monday morning at his home a few miles east of Lexington, leaving a wife and several children. Bill Sego was one of extensive connection and was himself a man who made his quota of friends. Want of information prevents a more extensive notice of his death. On 6 Nov 1890 when William Allen was 29, he married Mary E. SHACKLEFORD, in Henderson County, Tennessee. Born in Nov 1867. At the age of 55, Mary E. died on 23 Apr 1923. Obituary: Mrs. Sego Follows Her Husband: William Allen Sego, who death was chronicled in The Progress of last week, having died April 23rd, 1923, was followed to the realms of Eternity last Monday morning by his widow, Mrs. Mary E. Sego, who passed away on that day at 5:00 in the morning. William Allen Sego and Miss Mary Shackleford were married November 6th, 1890 and eleven children were born to them. Of these children, ten survive, namely: Ethel Scott, Frances Scott, Hautie, Httie Nowell, Lizzie, Levie, Will, Gilbert, Clyde, and Eddie. Mrs. Sego was a member of the Baptist Church at Oak Grove, east of Lexington, as was her lamented husband and there her remains were laid to rest Tuesday by the side of her husband who had so recently passed away. Elder T.C. Jowers, an old friend of the family, and Elder King of Westport, officiated the funeral service. Brother Jowers tell us that Mrs. Sego was a good woman, that our country can boast of no better, and the same could be said of her husband. This being truly said of Mr. and Mrs. Sego, this is a rich heritage left by them to their children. They had the following children:
48. John Franklin SEGO Junior. Born on 19 Feb 1863 in Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 76, John Franklin died in Lexington, Henderson County, Tennessee on 1 Feb 1940. Buried in Feb 1940 in Oak Grove Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee. Obituary: Died Thursday: John Franklin Sego was born February 19, 1867, and died at his home east of Lexington February 1st, 1940, aged 72 years. He was married to Miss Mary Ellen Reed, and to this union were born nine children, three dying early in life, namely Logan, Eva and an infant. The six surviving with their mother are Mrs. Maggie Sisson, Mrs. Addie Jowers, Mrs. Idell Sisson, Mrs. D. Small, John Martin and Otis Sego; also a brother, H.C. Sego. One brother and sister preceded him to the grave many years ago. Funeral services wre conducted at Oak Grove Church with interment in the nearby cemetery. John Franklin married Mary Ellen REED, in Henderson County, Tennessee. Born in 1874. They had the following children:
49. Anderson C. SEGO. Born in 1871 in Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 71, Anderson C. died in Henderson County, Tennessee in 1942. Buried in 1942 in New Hope Cemetery, Yuma, Carroll County, Tennessee. On 21 Jan 1906 when Anderson C. was 35, he married Maggie Florence HORTON, in Henderson County, Tennessee. Born on 15 Jun 1883 in Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 39, Maggie Florence died in Henderson County, Tennessee on 9 Jun 1923. Buried in Jun 1923 in New Hope Cemetery, Yuma, Carroll County, Tennessee. Obituary: Mrs. Maggie Florence Horton Sego was born June 15th, 1883, and departed this life June 9th, 1923. She was married to A.C. Sego in January 1905, and to this union were born seven children, two having preceded her to the grave. Five children are living--Alvin, Brady, Etta, James Vaughn and Norman--to mourn the loss of a mother. She professed faith in Christ at about twenty years of age and joined the Methodist Church at New Hope and lived a consistent Christian until death. Her father was of a good old Georgia family and came to Tennessee before the Civil War. Her mother was born and reared in this county and was of an industrious family. Funeral services were conducted at New Hope near her home,, being conducted by Rev. C.H. Gilliam, her pastor. They had the following children:
