Born on 22 May 1880 in Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 55, John Martin died in Henderson County, Tennessee on 23 Sep 1935. Buried in Sep 1935 in Oak Grove Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee. Obituary: John Martin Lindsey, of near Oak Grove, in the 3rd district of this county, was a son of the late Jerry and Ellen Lingee Lindsey. He was born on May 22, 1880, near where he died at the age of 55 years. He was married to Miss Mattie Lee Smith, who, with two sons, Bob and Roy, survive; also, daughters, Misses Ida and Edith Lindsey and Mrs. Leva McDaniel. A daughter, Mrs. Bell Sego, died about two years ago, and one son died in infancy. He leaves on brother, Tom Lindsey, and two sisters, Mrs. J.E. Sisson and Miss Mary Lindsey, all of Lexington. Rev. Fleetwood Ball, assisted by Rev. T.C. Jowers, conducted the funeral service at the New Hope Cemetery. They had the following children:
