At the age of 90, Horace Dudley died in Huntingdon, Carroll County, Tennessee on 15 Jul 2002. Buried on 18 Jul 2002 in Hampton Cemetery, Carroll County, Tennessee. Obituary: Mr. Horace Dudley Roark, 90, died Monday, July 15 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were conducted on Thursday, July 18 at 11:00 a.m. at the Clarksburg Church of Christ with Brother Bill Crossno officiating. Interment followed at Hampton Cemetery. Mr. Roark was born October 4, 1911 in Carroll County to the late Thomas Dudley and Florence Anderson Roark. He was a retired farmer, a member of the Clarksburg Church of Christ and a charter member of the Clarksburg Ruritan. Two brothers, Homer Roark and Raymond Roark and three sisters, Roberta Bates, Jewell Adcox and Eunice Roark preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Eudine Stokes Roark; two sons, Randall Roark of Huntingdon and Tom Roark of Chattanooga; two daughters, Nancy Rush and Ruth Ann Rhodes; one brother, Eulas Roark and one sister, Polly Hall, all of Huntingdon; ten grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Dilday Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. They had the following children:
141. Ed STOKES. Ed died on 5 Nov 1991. Ed married Mable Estelle WILLIAMS, daughter of William Ernest WILLIAMS & Mexie ANDERSON. Born on 23 Oct 1913 in Cypress, Texas. At the age of 85, Mable Estelle died in Jackson, Madison County, Tennessee on 19 May 1999. Buried in May 1999 in Concord Church Cemetery, Carroll County, Tennessee. Obituary: Mable Estelle Williams Stokes, 85, of Huntingdon, died Wednesday, May 19, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Services were held on Friday, May 21, at the Concord Missionary Baptist Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Elders A. G. Hayes, Rufus Chandler and Andrew Stokes officiated. Dilday Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Stokes, the daughter of the late William Ernest and Mexie Anderson Williams, was born October 23, 1913, in Cypress, Texas. She was a homemaker and a member of the Concord Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edd Stokes, who died November 5, 1991; and three brothers, Wilson Williams, Arthur Williams, and Jamie Williams. She is survived by two daughters, Mary Noles of Paris and Nina Smith of Bullard, Texas; five sons, Albert Stokes of Wildersville, Mike Stokes of Hendersonville, Richard Stokes, Steve Stokes, and Dennis Stokes, all of Huntingdon; two sisters, Clara Mae Prather of Clarksburg and Jean Thomas of Huntingdon; a brother, Lester Williams of Nashville; 24 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
