Elijah Alexander married Catherine Garner HALBROOK. Born in 1837 in Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 72, Catherine Garner died in 1909. Buried in 1909 in Lindsey Eubanks Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee. Alias/AKA: "Kate". They had the following children:
14. Carolyn Matilda AUTREY. Born on 6 Nov 1842 in Henderson County, Tennessee. Buried in Christian Chapel Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee. In 1868 when Carolyn Matilda was 25, she married Eli F. DERRYBERRY, son of Thomas DERRYBERRY (1799-1869) & Sarah ? (1807-1869). Born in Jan 1847 in Henderson County, Tennessee. They had the following children:
Eli F. Derryberry and Carolyn Matilda AUTREY lived in the Christian Chapel Community. On most censuses he is listed as being born in TN, but on one it is shown as Arkansas. Apparently Eli got into some trouble in Tennessee and moved to Arkansas for awhile and covered his trail by claiming Arkansas as his birth place. 15. Cynthia Malinda AUTREY. Born on 6 Nov 1842 in Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 78, Cynthia Malinda died on 17 Dec 1920. Buried in Dec 1920 in Jones Cemetery, Parkers Crossroads, Henderson County, Tennessee. Alias/AKA: "Aunt Puss". In 1866 when Cynthia Malinda was 23, she married John Calvin DERRYBERRY, son of Thomas DERRYBERRY (1799-1869) & Sarah ? (1807-1869). Born in 1837 in Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 36, John Calvin died in Henderson County, Tennessee on 2 Jan 1873. Buried in Jan 1873 in AUTREY Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in 15th District, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1870. John served as a Private in Company A, 7th Tennessee Cavalry (US). He was captured and held prisoner of war on the ship Sultana, which blew up and sank near Memphis, Tennessee, in 1864. He ripped a plank from the ship and threw it into the water. By the time he got to the plane, someone else had it. John took back his plank and floated down river to a tree top in the water, this one of the few survivors. He is buried in a cow pasture just west of Cedar Lake, on Mayo Road, in the AUTREY Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee. They had the following children:
16. Amanda H. AUTREY. Born in 1846. At the age of 59, Amanda H. died in 1905. Amanda H. married Green SCATES. Born in 1842. At the age of 72, Green died in 1914. They had one child:
17. Riley AUTREY. Born in 1856. Riley married Mary MURREN. Born in 1859. They had the following children:
