Obituary: "Whom the Gods Love Die Young": One of the saddest deaths this county has had was that of Mrs. Eddie Josephine Gibson, beloved bride of James H. Gibson, and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R.E. Lee, which occurred at the home two and a half miles north of Lexington, April 6th, 1929. Josie Lee was born November 1, 1906, and was married to James, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elam Gibson in June 1928. The funeral was held on the 7th inst., and Rev Fleetwood Ball and Prof. J.O. Brown conducted the service which was the last tribute to one that was truly loved by all who knew her. So great was the interest and so deep the sorrow over the death of this lovely girl-wife that relatives and friends possibly to the number of a thousand came to the funeral. Many members of the bereft families have been warm friends of this office and its force and in the untimely death of Mrs. Gibson we feel a distinct personal loss. The blow which falls upon the many who loved her is a fearful one but time, the great healer, will soften their grief and convert what is now poignant grief into sweet and tender memories.

In Jun 1928 when Eddie Josephine was 21, she married James Hardin GIBSON (121) , son of Elam Sanders GIBSON (1888-1950) & Myrtle HARDIN (52) (1884-1973). Born in 1908. At the age of 37, James Hardin died in Lexington, Henderson County, Tennessee on 19 Apr 1945. Buried in Apr 1945 in Beech River Cemetery, Lexington, Henderson County, Tennessee.

Obituary: James Hardin Gibson, aged 36 years, died April 19th 1945, at his home on Huntingdon Highway. He was born and reared in the Beech River community, a son of Elam and Myrtle Gibson. He was first married to Josie Lee who lived but a short time after their marriage. He later married to Frances Laws and to this union was born one daughter, Sue Ellen. He is survived by his wife and daughter, father and mother, and one brother, John Gibson of Wildersville. He was a member of the Church of Christ and Bro. VanDyke conducted the funeral services with burial in Beech River Cemetery.
