10. Mary G. ADAMS. Born on 29 Sep 1839 in Tennessee. At the age of 65, Mary G. died in Henderson County, Tennessee on 31 Aug 1905. Buried in Sep 1905 in Boswell Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee.

Obituary: In Memory: On the last day of August 1905 the angel of death summoned Aunt Mary Graves to join her beloved companion, who on the last day of April 1904, had forsaken earth life to rest on the other shore. She was born September 29, 1839, and was united in the bonds of matrimony with Major L. Graves December 28, 1865. Aunt Mary had been united for many years with the Missionary Baptist Church living faithfully to the same. She was esteemed and honored by all who had occasion to know her. She crowned her entire life with energetic efforts for usefulness. It was the Lord's good pleasure to bless her with five children, three sons and two daughters, all of whom survive to mourn the loss of their mother. --Bebe Boswell, Wildersville, Tennessee

On 28 Dec 1865 when Mary G. was 26, she married Major Lee GRAVES, son of ? GRAVES (1786-) & Penelope ? (1792-). Born on 5 Jul 1831 in North Carolina. At the age of 73, Major Lee died in Henderson County, Tennessee on 30 Apr 1905. Buried in 1905 in Boswell Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in District 17, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1850. Resided in District 17, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1870.

Obituary: Dead: Major Lee Graves, aged 75 years, one of the oldest and most highly respected citizens, died Friday of last week (April 29) at his home in the old 17th district. Mr. Graves had been feeble for years and has been confined to his bed for several weeks. He left three sons and two daughters besides his wife who was a member of the Baptist Church. The remains were interred in the Boswell graveyard. Mr. W.W. Dennison conducted the service at the grave.

iv. John. Born on 5 May 1879. At the age of 42, John died on 7 Oct 1921. Buried in Oct 1921 in Independence Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in Huron, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1916.

John married Lula B. HOLMES, daughter of Ralph HOLMES (1863-1932) & Lydia Arbella FESMIRE (1861-1897). Born on 6 Jul 1889. At the age of 29, Lula B. died on 2 Nov 1918. Buried in Nov 1918 in Independence Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee.

v. Joe. Resided in Trenton, Gibson County, Tennessee in 1916.


11. Elizabeth F. ADAMS. Born in 1843 in Tennessee. Resided in District 10, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1850.

Elizabeth F. married Nicholas KIZER. Born in 1844. At the age of 83, Nicholas died on 4 Apr 1927. Buried in Apr 1927 in Old Beech River Cemetery, Lexington, Henderson County, Tennessee.

They had the following children:

Nora married Ephram RHODES.

12. Elijah A. ADAMS. Born on 26 Sep 1849 in Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 83, Elijah A. died in Henderson County, Tennessee on 8 Jun 1933. Buried in Jun 1933 in Beech River Cemetery, Lexington, Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in District 10, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1850. Resided in District 17, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1870. Resided in District 17, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1900.

Obituary: Elijah A. Adams was born September 26, 1849, and died June 8th, 1933, at the age of 83 years. He was the son of the late Levi and Susan Rice (Webb) Adams. On January 19, 1873, he was married to Martha Jane Dameron, and to this union were born eight children, four of whom are surviving: L.F. Adams, Mrs. R.E. (Medina) Lee, Mrs. G.D. (Francis) Clayton of near Wildersville, and Mrs. H.S. Woodward, Jackson; and one sister, Mrs. Amanda Moore of Bemis. The Death Angel visited his home on the fourteenth of February, 1930, and took from him his loving companion. On May 14, 1931 he was married the second time to Mrs. Rebecca Pruitt, who survives. He was a strong believer in the tenets of the Primitive Baptist faith. He was buried at Beech River Cemetery with services conducted by Rev. T. M. Hampton, a Primitive Baptist minister. The following grandsons were pallbearers: Oscar Houston, Levi S. Essary, Harmon, Bob, and Columbus Adams; Riley Reeves, Van Smith and C.F. Lee.

On 19 Jan 1873 when Elijah A. was 23, he first married Martha Jane DAMERON, daughter of George F. DAMERON (1826-1904) & Annie KIZER. Born on 6 Nov 1851 in Gaston County, North Carolina. At the age of 78, Martha Jane died in Henderson County, Tennessee on 14 Feb 1930. Buried in Feb 1930 in Beech River Cemetery, Lexington, Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in District 17, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1900.

They had the following children:

iii. Susan. Born around 1878.

iv. Laura. Born in Jun 1879 in Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in District 17, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1900.

Laura married N.M. FRAZIER.

v. Frances. Born in Oct 1883 in Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in District 17, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1900. Resided in Henderson County, Tennessee in 1930. Resided in Wildersville, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1933.

Frances married George D. CLAYTON.

vi. Addie J.. Born in Nov 1886 in Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in District 17, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1900. Resided in Jackson, Madison County, Tennessee in 1930.

Addie J. married Scott WOODWARD.

vii. Bob Taylor. Born on 25 Jul 1889 in Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 13, Bob Taylor died on 6 Sep 1902. Buried in Sep 1902 in Beech River Cemetery, Lexington, Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in District 17, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1900.

On 14 May 1931 when Elijah A. was 81, he second married Rebecca PRUITT.

13. Nancy Tabitha ADAMS. Born on 28 Nov 1851 in Tennessee. At the age of 62, Nancy Tabitha died on 22 Feb 1914. Buried in Feb 1914 in Kizer Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in District 17, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1870. Resided in District 17, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1900.

Obituary: Mrs. J.P. Todd, aged 55 years or more, died last Sunday in the old 17th district, leaving a husband, two daughters and one son.

On 25 Jul 1872 when Nancy Tabitha was 20, she married James Priestly TODD, son of James TODD Junior (1823-1882) & Ellen RUSH (1824-1879). Born on 15 Jan 1850 in Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 66, James Priestly died on 21 Oct 1916. Buried in Oct 1916 in Kizer Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in District 17, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1870. Resided in District 17, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1880. Resided in District 17, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1900. Alias/AKA: "Pete". Cause of death: Drowned in Big Sandy River.

Obituary: Scarce Creek Items: Mr. Pete Todd, three miles south of Wildersville, committed suicide Saturday morning by drowning himself in the creek. Mr. Todd had not been in his right mind for some time. He is survived by three daughters and one son.

Susan Estelle. Born on 8 Nov 1875 in Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 64, Susan Estelle died in Wildersville, Henderson County, Tennessee on 12 Jan 1940. Buried in Jan 1940 in Kizer Cemetery, Wildersville, Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in District 17, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1880. Resided in District 17, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1900.

Obituary: Mrs. Estelee Todd Smith died in her home near Wildersville January 12th, 1940, aged 64 years. She was the daughter of the late J.P. and Nancy Todd and was married to J.T. Smith and February 22, 1922. She had no children of her own but was a loving mother to Mr. Smith's son and daughter by a former marriage. She is survived by her husband and two stepchildren, Joe Smith and Mrs. Lessie Rush of Trenton; one brother, R.C. Rush of Trenton and one sister, Mrs. H.A. (Bettie) Frazier of Wildersville. Funeral services were conducted in the home by Rev. T.M. Boyd of Memphis with burial in Kizer Cemetery.

On 21 Feb 1922 when Susan Estelle was 46, she married John T. SMITH.

Sulinda May. Born on 8 May 1878 in Henderson County, Tennessee. At the age of 58, Sulinda May died on 10 May 1936. Buried in May 1936 in Hare Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in District 17, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1880. Resided in District 17, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1900. Alias/AKA: "Ludie".

Ludie Todd had no children of her own. She married Joe Roberts who wife, Minnie Azbill, daughter of Harvey Azbill and Nancy Jane Howell ahd died in childbirth with her 11th child. It is said that Ludie raised these children as her own and they loved her dearly. Joe Roberts was the brother of uncle Leroy Roberts who married grandma's sister, Aunt Mandy Azbill.

Obituary: Mrs. Lula May Todd Roberts, daughter of James P. Todd and Nancy Adams Todd, was born May 10, 1878, in the family home 2 1/2 miles south of Wildersville. In early maidenhood she made a profession of religion and united with the Missionary Baptist Church and lived a consecrated, faithful member until her death, which occurred at her home one mile south of Wildersville on the morning of March 13, 1936. She was married to J.S. Roberts on May 10, 1902, and to them no children were born, but she bestowed a mother's love and care on the children of her husband by a previous marriage. She was a dutiful daughter, a loving and helpful sister, a true and faithful wife, a most gracious and helpful neighbor--a person who in her entire life was always ready to visit the sick and minister to the their needs. No one entertains a doubt that she had gone to that home that Jesus left earth to prepare. She was survived by two sisters, Mrs. Esterlee Smith and Mrs. Bettie Kizer, and one brother, Robert C. Kizer, all of the vicinity of Wildersville. Funeral services were held by Rev. Fleetwood Ball at the Hare graveyard where she was buried.

On 10 May 1902 when Sulinda May was 24, she married Joseph S. ROBERTS, son of William Roy ROBERTS (1841-1907) & Elizabeth Ann WOOD (1846-1921). Born on 15 Sep 1872. At the age of 81, Joseph S. died in Henderson County, Tennessee on 16 Jul 1954. Buried in Jul 1954 in Hare Cemetery, Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in District 9, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1900. Resided in District 1, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1920. Alias/AKA: "Joe".

36 iv. Sarah Elizabeth (1881-1963)
37 v. James Reed (1884-1913)
vi. Levy. Born on 18 May 1886. Levy died on 15 Feb 1887. Buried in Feb 1887 in Kizer Cemetery, Wildersville, Henderson County, Tennessee.

vii. Sam Page. Born on 26 Sep 1889. At the age of 6, Sam Page died on 22 Jun 1896. Buried in Jun 1896 in Kizer Cemetery, Wildersville, Henderson County, Tennessee.

38 viii. Robert Chester (1892-1957)

14. Amanda ADAMS. Born in 1856 in Henderson County, Tennessee. Resided in District 17, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1870. Resided in District 17, Henderson County, Tennessee in 1880. Resided in Bemis, Madison County, Tennessee in 1933.

Amanda married Pitts MOORE.

They had one child:
i. Leonard T.. Born in 1887.
